I have had a severe needle phobia for as long as I can remember. For years, I have used avoidance as a way of dealing with my phobia. However, with the pandemic and the need to have a Covid vaccine to continue with a (relatively!) normal life I needed to confront my phobia. I was very dubious about trying hypnotherapy and, if I’m honest, I didn’t think it would work. After some research, I contacted Paul from 2b@1 Hypnotherapy. 

Even making initial contact was difficult and I very nearly cancelled the first appointment. Even though the sessions were over zoom (Covid restrictions prevented face to face appointments), Paul made me feel comfortable and quickly put me at ease. 
I have always been extremely embarrassed by my phobia to the extent that I wouldn’t talk about it to anyone. I wasn’t quite sure how I would manage to open up to a complete stranger. However, Paul is very friendly, non-judgmental, incredibly empathetic and a great listener. As a result, I felt safe and I quickly became comfortable talking to him. 

Paul would clearly explain how hypnotherapy works and would check at every step that I was happy to proceed. He was always happy to answer any questions. I began to look forward to our sessions and found that not only was I making progress with my phobia but also I also felt so much calmer and always left the sessions feeling relaxed and recharged.

Prior to seeing Paul I was absolutely crippled with fear whenever I was faced with a vaccine/blood test/etc, I would hyperventilate, shake uncontrollably, cry and scream. Since starting hypnotherapy I have now had three Covid vaccines and a flu vaccine. I’m thrilled to report that with each vaccine I made progress. With my last vaccine, I felt calm and serenely relaxed - a phenomenal success given where I started. None of this would have been possible without Pauls help.

I genuinely can't thank Paul enough and would thoroughly recommend him to anyone. My only regret is that I didn’t go to him years ago!

Hello Paul, I thought I would feedback after our session last week. My sleep whilst not perfect has been so much better for the last 3 nights. Yesterday I went out and into shops leaving my husband in the car. Today, the once poor neglected dogs have been for a walk. It was only a short walk, but it was a walk. Given I’ve been unable to leave home for the last 6 weeks, I can’t believe the change after just one session. Many, many thanks D

Paul I feel  so much better. Been using your techniques and listening to your YouTube and have just been sleeping so much better.
I'm not say I won't need you again. I most certainly may will - but for the moment I feel so much better. Amazing what a good nights sleep can do for you! And for that I have you to thank .

After 2 Days

"A little update. So far so good. It's now 9.25pm and I've not had any chocolate or felt the need to have it either. In fact, I didn't have anything after my dinner last night except a banana. This morning I had a cup of tea with the usual 1 sweetener and found it too sweet so am now drinking it without. I tried the smallest bit of flapjack at work and didn't like it (far too sweet) usually one of my favourites, after trying the flapjack didn't even feel drawn to the white choc freshly baked cookies which I'd usually be drooling over. Had some rice pudding after dinner today and managed to eat it as it was without the half a ton of sugar I'd normally have. So that's 33 hours with no sweets, chocolate, biscuits or cake (think that's a record for me in my adult life). "

After 2 weeks

" So it is the end of week 2 now starting week 3 and still no chocolate! In fact I've not had any chocolate, cake, biscuits or sweets (except the occasional sugar free sweet) since I saw u last. Nor have I wanted any. In addition to this I have lost a further 6lb!! Last month I saw an ad on the Internet which was to raise money for charity by going chocolate free for whole month. I commented to mum that this would be impossible for me, but here I am halfway through that time scale which is incredible for me. So a really big thanku.

After 6 weeks

"Just thought I’d give you a little update. Well its now been 6 weeks since I first saw you. Easter I would have said would have been one of the biggest tests for me,  I usually have so much chocolate. Not this year!!! My daughter made a chocolate cake for Easter, I tried a small slice and was not fussed by it. Tried a little mini egg that she used to decorate it and no didn’t like it (usually I’d eat these by the bagful). Carrot cake I’m ok with but just a small slice and am happy with only one slice. (usually would have 2-3 slices in the day until it was gone). Found no added sugar instant whip too sweet. Still NO sweets either. Eating more fruit, banana during the day and usually an apple and satsuma in the evening. All in all think it’s going well."

After 1 year 

"Hi Paul, thought I would give you an update. It’s been a year since I had my first appointment with you to stop/cut down on the chocolate and sweet stuff. I’ve gone from someone who would have 1-2 standard bars of choc along with cookies and or sweets during the day, plus half to a whole large bar of choc each evening most days. To Someone who hasn’t had chocolate or sweets since I came to see you. The only exception is Sainsbury’s version of a Magnum Ice-cream (Magnum and Lidl versions are too sweet) but not every day. Also I’ve only eaten 2 very small pieces of chocolate cake (family birthdays) in this time too as I’ve totally gone off it. The only biscuits I eat now are ones I make myself at home but only 1 or 2 a day rather than the half a packet+ most days. The strange thing now for me is I don’t even miss it anymore. I feel a real sense of achievement now, and if anyone had told me that in a year I would stop eating chocolate I would never have believed them. But with your help it has been possible. Thank you very much."

I have to do regular presentations for work for up to 2 to 300 people. I found that I was becoming more and more nervous. The night before a presentation I could not sleep and became very anxious. Overtime I became exhausted, lost my appetite and was signed off work with stress. I was offered anti depressents by my doctor but I diidn't want to go down that route. I turned to hypnotherapy as a last resort but I'm so glad I did. Paul really helped me to manage what I now know is anxiety and in such a short period of time. After just a couple of sessions I started to feel better about myself and my apetite returned. I am now back at work and using the techniques Paul showed me to run my presentations without fealling anxious or nervous.  Thank you Paul.

I had smoked for over 40 years and tried patches to stop but they did not work  for me. I had a consultation with Paul and he told me that the smoking package consisted of 2 sessions and most people stopped smoking after the first session which I found very hard to believe but seeing as I had tried everything before I thought to myself that I may as well give it a go. Well, I'm not sure how he did it but I'd stopped smoking after only 1 session. I never believed I could do it but Paul showed me I could. He was very professional and explained everything in advance. I'm now saving the money I used to spend on Cigarettes and am going to treat myself to a holiday. I would recommend Paul to anyone.

I can never thank Paul enough for what he has done for me and my needle phobia. I went to see Paul about 9 months ago & had one session with him. I had experienced hypnotherapy 1 other time with someone outside of the area but Paul did things completely different - and for the better! Shortly after my session I had to have 2 blood tests. To say I felt like a different person is an understatement! Not completely ‘cured’ shall we say as I don’t think that will ever happen but he taught me how to deal with it in a calm, relaxed, confident & positive manner - maybe that is cured? I don’t know? But for me to be able to do that was a dream come true. I never thought I could get to a place like that, my phobia was that bad I had to try something/anything to see if anything helped - Paul did that for me and it makes me emotional to write this as I can’t put my thanks into words.

So glad I met Paul. I visited Paul for anxiety issues. Have to say a brilliant chap. Very good at what he does and I know if I ever need help in the future he will be there. I had 3 sessions and feel like a totally different person. Can highly recommend him.

I have regular sessions to help me cope with ongoing health issues, sleep issues and general relaxation. Paul is very professional and takes time for a full history prior to the initial session and an update before each session. Paul has a very soothing and calming voice. I feel like I'm walking on air each time I come out and the wonderful relaxed feeling stays with me. I cannot recommend Paul highly enough!
